Adventures from Fashion Week

Ellie Tahari 40th Anniversary Ceremony

You could smell fashion week in the air as I arrived at Elie Tahari on Fifth Avenue on September 4th. I was greeted by a band playing some groovin tunes at the 40 year celebration in Mr Tahari’s name.  Joan Rivers was on hand to congratulate Elie Tahari on the Mayor Bloomberg mayoral proclamation and designation of September 4th  as “Elie Tahari Day”.

Ultimate Fashion Feast

This fabulous event kicked off fashion week in a major way. The fashions were to die for!  I took a trip down to Chelsea Manor were I mingled and enjoyed the fashions on September 5th.

P.R.A.D.A. Shop Indie for a Cause

While I was a ways from the Mercedes Benz sponsored tents downtown on Saturday, September 7th , the fashion was still in full swing in Harlem.  The Ladies of The Original Housewives Collection, represented by Storm PR Agency, put together a sold out event.  The afternoon began with a vendor show, where one could purchase everything from adult novelties to jewelry.  Media, celebrity guests, and VIP ticketholders all filled the VIP area where they mingled and enjoyed complimentary services, swag bags, food and more.  The event’s finale was a fabulous fashion show, headlined by Jag & Co.

Celebrity Spottings:  Mama Jones, Yandy Smith, Ms Drama, Ramona Rizzo, Karen Gravano and many more.

New York Fashion Week Kickoff Party

Scores joined Shay Star as she hosted a party for New York Fashion Week. Partygoers partied to the sounds of DJ Mr Famous, while gaining momentum for the week ahead.  I had the fortune of partying with Shay on both Sunday the 8th and Wednesday the 11th of September.

OK! Magazine

I was a few days in, but I still managed to get to the launch of OK! TV OK!’s and OK!’s 5th Annual Fashion Week Event.  Ok magazine chose NYFW as the backdrop for the intro of OK!  TV. at Lavo in New York with a DJ Set by Mia Moretti & Margot.

Stars in attendance included: Nene Leakes, Adrienne Bailon, Jeannie Mai, Kenya Moore and many more.

The show was hosted by model and actress Carissa Rosario alongside cohost Sean Ringgold, who is also an actor.  The legendary designer, Stephen Burrows, presented fashion and style icon, Patricia “Pat” Cleveland, “Queen of the Catwalk”, with the coveted ‘Fashion Innovator Award’.   Ms. Cleveland graced us with one of her infamous walks down the runway before accepting her award.

Celebrity spottings: Po Johnson, Marcus Stewart, Alexander Martin and many more

Kids Runway Show

The little ones enjoy fashion too.  Grand Central was the venue for kiddie couture as celebrity kids took the runway on Wenesday, September 11th.  Celebrity kids included: Kiyan Anthony son of Carmelo and La La, DJ Young Slade son of Lil Jon, Thaddeus Ann, daughter of Kelly Bensimon, Jeffrey Tarplay, son of Sherri Shepherd, Lil C, Jaden , Cyia, and Carter, the children of New York Yankee players CC Sabathia, and Amar’e Jr., Assata and Are Stoudemire, the children of New York Knicks Amar’e Stoudemire. 10-year-old deejay, DJ Fulano, was on the ones and twos spinning the latest hits.

Celebrities spotted include:  Lala and Carmelo Anthony, Tyson Chandler, Amar’e Stoudemire, Jeannie Mai, Sheri Shepherd, and many more!

It was a long week, but I’m already preparing for the Winter shows.  I guess I’m a glutton for punishment!
