The 2012 Grammy Award nominations are slated to be announced next month, but artist have already submitted songs for their respected categories. Record companies and artists submit songs to be nominated. Nominations are made online and a hard copyÂ is sent to the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. When the song is submitted, reviewing sessions are then held by experts from the recording industry. John Legend and Estelle have teamed up together for Uptown magazine’s newest issue. In the magazine, they talk about their love for the city of New York, fashion, and of course food.
Estelle commented on John Legend’s style stating, “That boy can hang a damn suit! Itâ€™s impossible for him to have a bad day if heâ€™s wearing one.” Hmm…too bad John has a girlfriend. John got a little flirty with Estelle too saying that he liked seeing her rock a nice pair of slacks with 5 inch heels. “Estelle has good legs, so she can get away with wearing some pretty funky styles.” Nice to see the two are so chummy with each other. John Legend is denying allegations that he’s a song stealer. The Grammy winner tells E! News Anthony Stokes’ claims are “not true,” adding that he plans to “fight it in court” and “prevail.” Stokes filed a lawsuit earlier this month alleging Legend stole a song he wrote called “Where Are You Now” to create his track “Maxine’s Interlude” off his album “Once Again.” Stokes claims he gave the song to Legend when he visited the University of North Carolina in 2004, but Legend says he had “never heard” of the song until he was sued. The homies over at Concretloop posted all the pictures from the 41st Annual NAACP Image Awardswhich took play in LA last Friday night. Hosted by Hill Harper and Anika Noni Rose, the star-studded event included performances and tributes from Wyclef Jean, Keri Hilson, Tamela Mann, Jill Scott, John Legend and Mary Mary and honored Tyler Perry, Vann Jones, Wyclef and Clarence Avant.
NAACP absolutely loves Tyler Perry’s House of Payne. The series absolutely dominated every one of the top comedy categories except for “Outstanding Actor in a Comedy Series.” That honor went to Daryl “Chill” Mitchell of FOX’s rather terrible Brothers. Dramatic awards featured a far more mixed bag, with no single series repeating in any of the major dramatic categories.
