Monica came out to show love at the cocktail party, that was held at Hyatt Regency, for Children’s at Hughes Spalding, children’s hospital. Not only did she help raise funds for them, but she gave a very captivating and moving performance. The hospital is set to open their new doors in downtown Atlanta. They held the party as a way to show gratitude for their sponsors. Shout out to all the Dr’s and Nurses who were in attendance to show love to the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Foundation. It’s always great to see celebrities giving back to their community.

Last night Jermaine Dupri (WWW.GLOBAL14.COM)had a party to launch his new line of watches, NuPop. I must say that I really love the watches, their something new and not like a lot of other watches that you see. A lot of people came out to support him, including Teyana Taylor (whose is in Stomp The Yard 2), Monica, Johnta Austin, Big Boi, Producer Nitti, and many more. Well, I guess that just shows that JD can do anything. I’m proud to see him venturing out of music, I wonder if he’ll catch the acting bug next? Make sure ya’

Monica’s two sons celebrated their birthday together early this month.  The Starfire Group  and The Garner Circle PR, produced the extravagant celebration, that took place at Red Carpet Lanes. Family and friends came out in numbers for an afternoon of bowling, fun, and food.

The celebration also brought out Jermaine Dupri, Daniel Wilcox, Derick Blanks, Rock City and many more of Atlanta’s music community that has been with Monica since her beginnings.

Many people were asking why the two boys celebrated their birthday together, well after Lil Rocko repeatedly asked his mom if he could have his party with his little brother, she finally agreed to it. We all know Mama’s have no choice but to give in after looking at their little ones face…  And Lil Roc Knows he know how to make his mama heart melt… LOL

Plies and Monica came out to FAMU’s homecoming concert and tore the house down. Plies gave out over $1000 during the show, to a young girl that appeared to be no older than 12.

Plies was performing and thought that everyone in the audience was over 18. While performing, he not only stopped the show, but he had a girl brought on stage, that he could clearly see was under the age of 18. He gave her $1000 to leave the show and have her mom take her somewhere age appropriate. Not only that but he also gave a girl his $15,000 goon chain… I wish I had it like that to give… 

As much crap that people give him, you have to-admit that this indent makes you give Plies a standing ovation. I don’t know many rap artists that would have done a thing like that, and for that I give Plies 2 thumbs up! Singers Mary J. Blige, Monica, Fantasia and actress Tasha Smith attended the Thurgood Marshall College Fund’s 22nd anniversary celebration at the Sheraton New York Hotel & Towers on Monday night (October 26) in New York City, and it was off the chain. I have to tell yall I love Fantasia! She killed it and she song 4 of my favorite songs. The night was closed by my big sis Monica and she told everyone how much the hip hop Queen Miss Mary J Blige meant to her breaking down and telling everyone that she would not be where she is now if it was not for Mary.. here are all the pictures …

Yesterday was a big day for my big sis she did “106 & Park” to promote her new show still standing. The premiere of Monica’s new reality show aired last night immediately following the BET Hip Hop Awards and we are so glad to see that it was drama free. This first episode brought us into her life and captured her in her element working with producer Bryan-Michael Cox to choose the perfect single to kick off her upcoming album.

Viewers can look forward to seeing Monica balance her family life along with recording her fifth studio album not to mention raising those two adorable little boys of hers. She plans to show that even through the most difficult times hard work, faith and perseverance can carry you through anything. The chart topping R&B recording artist hesitated at first to allow such an up close and personal look into her life but decided that her story could be used to inspire those who tuned in.

“It was very scary stepping into the type of situation that would expose me and my life,” said Monica. “But I think that there are so many kids now that are aspiring to do exactly what I’ve done and I felt like that was worth me putting myself on the line so they would really understand what it’s like to try and juggle both a music career and personal life.”

Can’t wait to see what’s in store! I’m so happy to finally see a positive light being shined on the black community. Tune in to BET every Tuesday at 10/9c to watch Monica: Still Standing. I have to say that I am kinda pissed after finding out that Mo will only have 10 songs on her album… so please send that label notes letting them know that we need more songs …

Catch the premier of Monicas reality series “Still Standing” on BET , tonight, October 27th at 10pm right after the BET  Hip Hop Awards.

I always like to hear about celebs giving back because it shows that they care about more than the material things in life. So when Janeen Mansour created an awards show specifically for it, I thought it was a brilliant idea.

The Nobel Awards seeks to annually honor up to a dozen charities and celebrities who actively support them. Morgan Freeman received the first ever Noble Lifetime Achievement Award. Celebrities who will accept awards on behalf of the charities being honored include Laila Ali (Women’s Sports Foundation), Jessica Biel (Children’s Hospital Los Angeles), Joel Madden (The Art of Elysium) and Brett Ratner (Dosomething.org), and many more.

The ceremony included celebrity presenters and performers such as Benji Madden, Maureen McCormick, Kathryn Olison, Brian McKnight, Timothy Mitchum and ,Emily Bear. Lionel Richie also came out to support his daughter’s boyfriend, Joel Madden. Atl’s very own Monica did the honors of closing out the show with her AMAZING voice I have to tell yall alot of people try to hate on her under their breath but she is one of only 3 artist I know getting booked to perform at major white events.  Just keeping it real… Her new show comes out Oct 27 at 10pm
