Eighty81 “Sport Suite” Volume 1,introducing this year’s rookie favorite OJ Mayo (#32 Memphis Grizzlies). The event was a huge success as this premier event successfully united sports, culture and out the box dynamic. Sports enthusiast, athletes, celebrities and the who’s who of Atlanta came out in strong numbers to indulge in this new experience. Expect to see much more from Eighty81 as they continue to gear up for 2009. Special Guests included The Atlanta Hawks, the Atlanta Spirit, Memphis Grizzlies, Killer Mike, Eighty81 reps, and OJ Mayo. 20 pairs of Hawks vs. Grizzlies tickets were given away throughout the night.

The New Era store is making history by releasing a line of hats and clothing specifically for historically black colleges and universities. This is MAJOR because up until now, only mainstream colleges and universities like Harvard, UCLA, NYU, or Emory were able to purchase their school paraphernaliafrom any store across the country. This is the first major company to recognize HBCU’s and their lack of presence on the national school paraphernalia scene.

It’s very important that you support businesses and individuals that lend a hand to the community. New Era is really taking a big step in the right direction by shedding light on HBCUs. Part of the proceeds from the sale of the hats and clothing will go back to HBCU of the school on the purchased item. Shout out to the Gardner Circle PR and Event Planning for putting everything together!

The Pre BET Hip-Hop Awards Parties have started in the ATL, last night I got a chance to take pictures at the New Era Store and almost lost my mind!  They had every type of hat you could think of.  The Awards show takes off this weekend.
