The R & B Divas were at it again. Back to filming season 2 and adding some new faces to the squad. Tonight they performed a tribute to the one and only Chaka Khan and it was incredible and angelic to the ears. There’s nothing like someone singing your song to you and it actually sounding like you. Ya know? Chaka Khan and the audience gave the girls a Standing Ovation after their amazing performance. Rickey Smiley was the host and it just felt like a TV One Take Over type of evening READ MORE

AP9-NewCoCOAP9 and his New CoCo – I wonder what reminds him of the both of them. Last night Atlanta’s Celebs and friends of Devyne Stephen’s the “HOST” of the evening came together to celebrate R Kelly’s BDAY! In attendance were Towanda Braxton, Egypt Sherrod, Akon, Wale, or was it Dwelle, Takeo Spikes, Carlos Emmons, Demetria McKinney, Mario, Carl Payne, BabyDee and the Crew,(the stage was crazy) security was tight and getting next to R Kelly for a photo was next to impossible. We did get to catch up with AP9 and he’s just wondering “How the Heck Did Everyone End up Mad at him?” Well he has a new nickname “troublemaker” but he seemed like a really cool guy just wanted to have fun like the rest! Oh and my buddy Rodney Perry just kept finding himself in all these situations. Look at the pics and you be the judge! Oh and special shout out to Grey Goose ambassador “Jason Geter”and Amy Eslami “Multicultural Manager for Bacardi/Greygoose for sponsoring a Celebrity Table for the party! Here goes the movie you missed  READ MORE

Hot Tomales is not even close to describing the spectacular event that took place last night. I attended one of my favorite homies and radio personality  Ebony Steele of Fox’s Dish Nation and nationally syndicated Rickey Smiley Morning Show.  She celebrated her 5-year breast cancer survivorship with the Bare Chest for Breast Cancer Runway Show at 595 North Venue & Lounge with proceeds to benefit Susan G. Komen Circle of Promise. This was definitely the place to be where they “Bared” it all from showing support to awarding door prizes and even presenting an all Male Runway Show.

Prior to the show, celebrity attendees such as Kirk (LHHA), Mizz Shyneka (Hot 107.9), Resheeda (LHHA), Ebony Steele (Hot 107.9) and Kandi Burress (RHOA)  interacted in the African Pride Gifting Suite where luxury consumer and beauty brands, Jo Malone, Lamik Beauty, Infiniti of South Atlanta, I Heart Hair Inc, Spa Dental, e6 Energy and African Pride gifted products.  Attendees also received delectable tastings from Cake Café Atlanta, Edible Arrangements (Lithonia) and Vita Coco Water while Center for Black Women’s Wellness distributed materials about health and wellness.

Posing above is the fabulous Ariana Davis (LHHA) and Shay “Buckeey” Johnson (LHHA) showing support with a hint of Pink Pride.

As the fly-est woman in the room, Ebony Steele(Hot 107.9) reviews a few key things while Porsha Williams-Stewart (RHOA) expresses her personal passion behind supporting this event due to the fact that her father dealt with cancer as well.

The runway show featured with performances MTV’s Collizion Crew (ABDC), Brooke “Viosocalist: Alford, and Cash Out while live painter, Janssen Robinson (NOW Painting) captured the evening via canvas.Featured apparel brands in this year’s runway show were DTLR, Sweet Spot Apparel, Threadz Boutique, D&K Suit City, Kickboard Kouture Apparel House and Lee Gregory Underwear.

Mizz Shyneka (Hot107.9), Ebony Steele(Hot 107.9), Beyonce Alowishus, and Darlene McCoy take a                         moment to smile for the camera with style.

Shawty Lo made sure that he gave us a “chill” in this photo.

First off let me say this has to be one of the most touching films I have seen all year and is a TV movie that I know Wendy Williams would love…  Some of ATL’s A Listers came out to support Roger Bobb’s private screening the debut of the GMC film “Raising Izzie” Winner of the 2012 GMC’s Faith & Family screenplay competition during the American Black Film Festival. Written by David Conley, and Produced and directed by Atlanta’s own Roger Bobb CEO of Bobbcat Films.

Please Help get the word out about this movie they need support…

“Raising Izzie”, is a heart touching film about two young girls who become orphaned, who’s lives have changed tremendously, until they meet a radiant couple Greg (played by Rockmond Dunbar ) & Tonya (Vanessa Williams- Soul Food series)  who makes a significant impact on their lives.

Victoria Staley a new actress introduced as the head strong teenager, and Kyla Kenedy as Izzie, (Who Definitely stole the show with her quick wit and faithful belief that GOD is real. This helped her to endure the trial and tribulations she and her sister faced.

“Raising Izzie”, also features many cameos including Atlanta’s on V103’s radio
personality Wanda Smith.

Be sure and catch the World Premiere of “Raising Izzie” this Saturday July 21st at 7pm on GMC, check your local listings online at www.watchgmctv.com

If you were in Atlanta last week and you weren’t at the W Hotel in Buckhead then (please don’t slit your wrist) when you hear about the fabulous time that you missed. Ok, where do I start? I knew I was under dressed as I walked down this red (light special) lit hallway to the Ballroom. Once I made it to the red carpet I noticed a Classic Brown Mahogany wood Step and Repeat w/white grey goose geese on it (Very Classy). Next I went into the Media/”Private Room”. Wow, there was a bookcase that looked like a wall that had a secret door. Only difference was the password was “press”. There was R & B Diva Monica looking like a breath of fresh air in her white suit. Then I should have known her Knight in Shining Armor Shannon Brown(but he was actually white too) was not too far from her side.

Toya Wright & Monica Brown

I am not going to even comment on my girl “Toya Wright’s” get up (Green Jeans, Red Bottoms) and a Pony Tail that made her look younger than Regginae. She’s HOT! No offense MeMpHiTz but I had to say it!

Look at what happen when the Grey Goose Cherry Noir got going after the break… READ MORE
