I know that people have been havingÂ mixed feelings about Drake taking on an Aaliyah album but now BET is reporting that Timbaland will reportedly be involved in the upcoming “Posthumous” Aaliyah album. I don’t know how the entire project will go but it seems only right that you involve Timbaland and/or Missy working on this album. This is news that should provide some solace to fans who were upset by the new Aaliyah song released late Sunday by Drake and his producer Noah “40″ Shebib.
Drake is working with Aaliyah’s record label Blackground Records as executive producer of the new album, news that crystallized for the public soon after Sunday’s release of “Enough Said,” on which he is featured with the late Chanteuse.
Drake’s involvement in Aaliyah’s new posthumous single “Enough Said” is getting mixed reviews from fans online.Â MTV News reports the pro-Drizzy crowd took to Twitter after the song was posted online this weekend, thanking the Toronto rapper for continuing the late R&B singer’s legacy.Â But not everyone is on board.Â Twitter-user @tiphonic said “Drake’s obsession” with Aaliyah — he sports two tattoos honoring the singer — is a little scary.Â Others also said frequent Aaliyah collaborators Timbaland and Missy Elliott should be involved in any new music from the singer, a point Timbaland agrees with.Â The producer said in an April radio interview that “it would not be right” for Drake to go forward with a new Aaliyah project without himself and Elliott.
“Enough Said” is rumored to be the first single from an entire posthumous album from Aaliyah, which Drake may be executive producing.Â However, the record and its possible production team have yet to be confirmed.

Missy Elliott and Timbaland fans have a lot to look forward to this summer. Timbaland tells MTV News they plan on releasing solo albums on the same day in June. He says they will also release their first singles at the same time, although a debut date for the tracks has yet to be revealed. The famed hip-hop producer adds that they didn’t want to get too far ahead of one another while putting together their solo projects, so they decided to work on their albums “at the same time.”

Timbaland said he decided to â€œtake a driveâ€ on Tuesday after a piece of his jewelry went missing, and the next thing he knew, he was stopped by police who believed he was trying to kill himself.
â€œI donâ€™t know what happened, to be honest with you. I donâ€™t even know what people are talking about,â€ the rapper/producer told Ryan Seacrest on his syndicated radio show yesterday.
Apparently, a helicopter spotted Timbaland and deputies were sent to his location. Officers then took him home and determined his life was not in danger.
