I had the opportunity to check out the first episode of ROOTS the new miniseries presented by the History Channel. I grew up watching the miniseries and did not know if we needed another slave story. But after seeing the first episode and listening to Director Will Packer speak about his motivation to recreate this epic series; I am ecstatic to share this historical moment with you all.

The movie is a visual masterpiece and a great conversation piece about being American. The private event was held at Atlanta’s Center for Civil and Human Rights and some of Atlanta’s most influential were in attendance to see the first episode and discuss its impact.

Last night I had the opportunity to kick it with some of Atlanta’s biggest and brightest stars at the Meet the Black Celebrity Break Out. The event was truly star-studded as guests had the opportunity to learn about the hot new film coming to a theater near you called “Meet the Blacks” starring comedians Mike Epps and Atlanta’s own Lil Duval about moving on up to a new life in Beverly Hills. Angela Simmons, Laz Alonso, Will Packer, Roddy White, and Devonta Freeman were the hosts of Pepsi’s #TheRecipe event in Atlanta. The private event was held at Atlanta’s favorite pizzeria “Do Restaurant” to a packed house. #TheRecipe is a dope networking event that focuses on the entertainment and sports that’s been going across the country over the past few weeks in celebration of Black History Month.

Guests were given the opportunity to network and chat with the panel. Pepsi #TheRecipe was truly star-studded with it’s panel and guests that included:
