Kelly Rowland has premiered her new World Cup song ‘The Game’ directed by Spike Lee for Pepsi’s Beats of the Beautiful Game campaign.

Check out the details below.

‘The Game’ was lifted from the Pepsi MAX Beats of the Beautiful Game album, whose tracklist includes songs by Janelle Monáe, Rita Ora, and Timbaland.

Each song on the album will have its own short film, helmed by directors including Idris Elba and Diego Luna.

Frank Cooper III, chief marketing officer for Pepsi has this to say about the album,

“We hope that fans of both artforms find that this unique combination embodies the true spirit of the beautiful game.”

The Spike Lee-directed video follows Pixote, a young Brazilian boy who’s a big soccer fan and player.

“Yes we can, yes we can,” Kelly Rowland signs in repetition over a hot drum and whistle that takes me back to my days of marching in the band. Pixote continues to kick a soccer ball all across the city, bouncing it down every staircase imaginable  before his ball is stolen.

The FIFA World Cup kicks off yesterday in Brazil, with Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull performing as part of its opening ceremony.

Beats of the Beautiful Game is available to download now.
