Atlanta, get ready to rumble for a reason. R&B singer RL, best known as the voice of Next, is stepping out of the booth and into the boxing ring, and across from him is actor and dancer Darrin Henson, who fans know from Soul Food. This is not a studio session or a movie scene — this is a real celebrity boxing match, and FreddyO has your front-row seat.
The two entertainers came together for Celebrity Fight Night in Atlanta, an evening built around giving back. The gloves came on to support young people living with diabetes, along with youth programs and amateur boxing right here in Georgia. That is what makes this one special — every jab thrown in that ring was about helping somebody outside of it.
Before the first bell, the night already felt big. Lifestyle specialist Kenny Burns kept the crowd loose and laughing, and Lil G of Silk stepped up to sing the national anthem, setting the tone for an Atlanta night that mixed entertainment, sports and community. Once RL and Darrin touched gloves, though, the smiles were gone. Both men came to compete, trading shots and refusing to back down while the crowd stayed on its feet.
Press play above and watch how it all went down — who got the best of the exchanges, who surprised you, and who walked away with bragging rights. Then drop a comment and tell us: would you step into the ring for charity, and which celebrity match do you want to see next?
