Terrence Howard has his sights set on the White House. Caught up in New York City this week and asked whether he is looking forward to voting, the Empire star had a much bigger goal in mind.
“Yes. I’m looking forward to becoming president,” Howard said.
Pressed on whether he was serious, he did not back down: “If they’re not going to make a difference, somebody’s got to do something.”
His potential platform? Reparations. Howard said he would love to sit down with President Trump to discuss the lasting impact of slavery, arguing that descendants of slaves should be exempt from federal taxes for the next 400 years. He believes the move would help close the economic gap, bring investment into Black communities, and help heal the country.
There is no campaign and no paperwork — just Terrence Howard saying it plain, the way he always does. Whether it ever becomes a real run, his message was clear: if the leaders won’t make a difference, somebody has to step up.
