Jen's cost :

To spend the same amount :

Equate (1) and (2) :

15b + 45 = 20b + 35

Collect like terms :

15b - 20b = 35 - 45

-5b = - 10

b = 10/5

b = 2

Therefore, each girl will have to buy 2 shirts.
