Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s sports bar fundraiser is putting four-million-dollars into President Obama’s campaign coffer. The music power couple hosted a 40-thousand-dollar-a-plate event at Jay-Z’s 40-/40 Club in New York City Tuesday night.
Over 100 donors in suits and dresses attended the fundraiser, which included an appearance by the POTUS, himself.
Beyoncé told the crowd she and Jay-Z believe in the President’s vision and were proud to host the event.
President Obama thanked “J and B” for their friendship when he took the stage, adding that First Lady Michelle Obama and daughters Sasha and Malia were mad at him because they weren’t able to attend.
The President also called Beyoncé a great “role model” for his daughters “because she carries herself with such class and poise and has so much talent.”
He also joked that he and Jay-Z have a lot in common, noting that they both have daughters and, quote, “our wives are more popular than we are.”
