If you thought Kelly Rowland’s career was relegated to waiting by the phone, waiting for Beyonce’s call to get Destiny’s Child back together (or collecting royalties for that sappy Nelly duet), “Motivation” offers evidence of the contrary. On Monday, she debuted the video to the Jim Jonsin/Rico Love-produced single on BET’s “106 & Park,” and the damp, sweaty video matches the song’s intense sexuality. If this isn’t the year’s hands-down sexiest song thus far, it has to be in the discussion.
Rowland, whose sultry voice could get a priest hot (“I don’t want to feeeeeeel my legs”), weaves in and out of the minimal beat (Jonsin did Wiz Khalifa’s sparse “On My Level,” and it’s easy to imagine “Motivation” coming from a session around the same time), setting the table for Lil Wayne’s stuttering, after-hours guest-verse. (Is this the first rap verse to have “rain forest” censored?) Stack the pieces together and it’s an understated knockout that gets sexier with each spin.

GO KELLS!!!!
I’m sorry not hating on Kelly but why is she humping and being very sexcular??? It’s like thats the new thing sell sex barely wear any clothes and that means your talented.. That’s sad she has to sing about sex to get her career jumping.but to each is own…Guess she is trying to make her money so if she wants to hump and talk bout screwing guess she can do that.
Have you listened to the words of the song? Do you know what the song is about? If you could answer yes to both of those questions then you wouldn’t need to question why she is ‘humping’ and being sexy. It’s a hawt song and video. It’s about time. Kelly stepped her game all the way up this time. Keep it’s going and be consistent and her career will have a whole new life.
I agree w/ BORN2SING86. Maybe Kelly should listen to TI’s song Motivation so she can understand what a motivational, get up and grind hard song should sound like. All this song and video promotes is SEX. As if the world needs more songs about sex! #imjuxsayn
