New information regarding Aaliyah’s upcoming posthumous album continues to surface this week. The latest detail comes from Missy Elliott’s longtime manager Mona Scott-Young, who says via press release that Elliott and fellow Aaliyah collaborator Timabaland won’t be participating in the new project.
This comes not long after Blackground Records’ Jomo Hankerson told Billboard.biz that both musicians would “definitely be involved.” But Scott-Young goes on to say that they have not been contacted about the album and have no plans to participate at this time. She adds that Missy and Timbaland are “very sensitive to the loss still being felt by the family” of the late R&B star, so they “wanted to clear up any misinformation being circulated.”

Last week, Hankerson confirmed that Drake and Noah “40” Shebib will co-executive produce the new Aaliyah album along with himself and his father, Barry Hankerson. Shebib recently unveiled the set’s first single, “Enough Said,” online. Hankerson says they hope to have the rest of the album out before the end of the year.
