Am I getting so old that they are starting to remake films that came out when I was a kid… Warner Bros. has announced it will produce a remake of the 1992 hit “The Bodyguard,†which co-starred Whitney Houston opposite Kevin Costner in her first film role. I really don’t know if I am feeling this!!!!! This is the film that pushed Whitney to the next level making her unstoppable. Here is video of her sing the song we all know her for “I Will Always Love You”.
The original, which spawned one of the biggest ballads of all time, “I Will Always Love You,†centered on a former Secret Service agent (Costner) hired to protect a world famous pop singer (Houston). While initially uncomfortable in her glitzy world, the man eventually falls for her, compromising his ability to protect her.
The 1992 film was written by Lawrence Kasdan and was meant as a vehicle for Steve McQueen and Diana Ross. In the remake, the story would be updated so that the man would be a former Iraqi war vet. Warner Bros. has hired Jeremiah Friedman and Nick Palmer to write the script. Studio-based Dan Lin will produce. I think some things should not be touched and this one of them….
Who are they going to cast for the remake of this movie? Besides the looks, they need someone who can sing.
The first movie was okay, but I don’t know about a remake. smh
I think Monica would be the perfect person to play Whitney’s part!

There is no way it will live up to the original.
There is not a chance, not even a slim one that it will stand up to the original. maybe they should cast the original stars and do an update to their story. now we are talking about a BLOCKBUSTER!!!! I would want to watch. If you should read this much Love to you, good luck, Ms. Houston in your current rehab.
nobody can be whitney. the only person for this role would be whitney. it was her baby schould only be offered to her. maybe this can be her big come back role. i wish her all the best. remember everyone makes mistakes. she is intidled to redeam herself. lets just give her the chance to do that.
