Prince so occupied with his new girl toy that he “forgot” to pay his legal team, but apparently, they have grown tired of waiting on their check from Mr. Purple Rain. The 52-year-old, legendary musician is being sued by Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler, a law firm who represents him, in Manhattan Supreme Court. The firm is seeking $708,687 in unpaid fees.
The firm says it’s done work for Prince in New York, where he’s battling allegations he failed to promote his fragrance line; in California, where he was trying to get his $83,000 security deposit on a Beverly Hills mansion he rented; and in Ireland, where he was sued for backing out of a gig at the last minute. The filing says the firm also helped handle settlement negotiations in his divorce case and ponied up cash for public relations work for him After a moment of considering all the money he has on the line in the above cases, I think Prince will make it rain on his attorneys.
