In a recent interview,  Usher tolded UK news outlet The Guardian that he believes reality television talent shows like “American Idol†are keeping the music industry from progressing.
Ursh says many of the yet talented performers are thrown into the industry without knowledge of the business of music.
“The true art form of music is being lost, because it seems so easy that everyone can do it, and that it can happen overnight,†he told reporters “Television is a lie. It can’t happen overnight. The artist who thinks that it can just comes and goes. The reason why great singers cannot exist in this time is maybe because they’re not properly managed, and maybe they don’t understand the full gamut of what being an entertainer is.â€
Interestingly, the singer has mentored an “AI†winner, helping Justin Bieber launch his career. Critics may have a few words to say about Usher’s comments, but he also blames irresponsible record companies.
“We’re dealing with an industry that is slowly but surely dying, every day,†he continued. “Then there’s the record companies that are mass-producing these versions of these people; version of this broken art. While it works, because it sells records, it damages the business.â€

Being an artist myself. I agree. It does open one up, if not trained enough, to predators and scam artists.
Just like DMX said, the game is definitely changing, its not about talent anymore, its about how many dicks you can suck to get to the top.
Whatever Usher like the previous comments there is no more real talent (“Be My Little Freak”) & the song you have with Nikki Minaj. Get the f outta here . And the ones with real talent, that can sing without studio help doesn’t get much air play.
Why would he go on the show if he did not agree with it. Half the artists that start out in the business, especially if they are young, do not know the business because it takes time and everyone needs guidance. I would say that at least half the artists that have won AI in the past have talent, can sing, and are great artists. If you are a great artists you will last, if you’re not you won’t

Usher just needs to sit down like Chris Brown. Justin Bieber was never on AI. He saw him on YouTube . Infact Justin Timberlake saw him on YouTube and then Usher ganked him. Honestly with Wikipedia around, you can not know that!

Reality shows have nothing to do with the state of the music industry. In my opinion, the biggest hindrance is that major companies have stopped creating great music. Even Usher’s recent releases have not been that good
USHER NEEDS TO SHUT THE HELL UP JUST BECAUSE THEY GO ON A TALENT SHOW DOES NOT MEAN THAT THEY HAVE NOT BEEN DOING IT JUST AS LONG AS HE HAS ITS ABOUT OPPORTUNITY AND OPENING UP THE DOORS, HIS CAREER IS BASICALLY OVER ANY.
