Jill Scott turned 40 this month and dropped the new video for her latest single, “Blessed,” from her most recent album “Light of the Sun.” Jill Scott secured the #1 spot on the Billboard charts for the first time in her career with her latest album.

With sales of over 135, 000 units in her first week Scott beat out Bon Iver and Adele for the week’s top selling album across all genres.

The album received numerous accolades including the Wall Street Journal calling it “one of the superior albums of the year”, NPR Music naming it “Best of 2011”, and rave reviews from The New York Times, Entertainment Weekly, People Magazine.

The Philly-bred singer-songwriter will be heading to a city near you in the not so distant future as a part of the Block Party concert series.
