I got behind the camera for a celebrity photo shoot with Claire Sulmers, the founder of Fashion Bomb Daily. Come along for a look at how the shoot came together.
Claire Sulmers is a true Atlanta success story. The Atlanta native graduated from Harvard with a degree in French and African American studies, which helped land her a job writing for Vogue Paris. She also wrote for Vogue Italia and Essence before building her own empire.
That empire is Fashion Bomb Daily, the go-to fashion destination for women of color. Claire started it as a blog when she was told she’d never fit into mainstream fashion media, and she built it into a brand with millions of followers, plus spin-offs like Fashion Bomb Men, Fashion Bomb Kids and Fashion Bomb Africa. Even Cardi B has said she checks Fashion Bomb Daily to see what’s hot.
Today Fashion Bomb Daily is also a shopping platform and an events brand. Claire wrote a book, “The Bomb Life,” and launched The Bomb Fashion Show during New York Fashion Week to give emerging designers of color a runway.
