Instead of waiting to get picked for funding, one London founder is bringing the money to the table. Black Capital, a new platform from John Muleba, launches October 20 at Elder Yard in London.

Muleba, a former creative strategist for luxury brands like Burberry, Alexander McQueen and Louis Vuitton, built Black Capital to connect Black-led businesses and creative talent directly with investors, banks and government officials.

The need is real. Black founders have historically received less than 1% of venture capital in the UK, even though ethnic-minority-led businesses add an estimated £25 billion a year to the economy.

Should something like this launch in Atlanta next? Let us know.
