SAFETY ALERT, family — go check your pantry before you snack!
Snack Right Super Foods, the company behind Brad’s Raw Chips, is recalling about 25,000 bags of Brad’s Plant Based kale chips sold nationwide because they may contain THALLIUM — a toxic metal that, at high levels, can cause stomach illness, nerve damage and even hair loss.
The recall covers four products. Check your bags for these exact names, UPCs and lot numbers:
- Brad’s Crunchy Kale, Original, 2 oz — UPC 813104021679 — Lots 33525-1, 33525-2, 33525-3 (Best By Feb. 1, 2027), Lot 34525-1 (Best By Feb. 11, 2027) and Lot 35125-2 (Best By Feb. 17, 2027)
- Brad’s Crunchy Kale, Cheeze It Up, 2 oz — UPC 813104021877 — Lot 35025-3 (Best By Feb. 16, 2027)
- Brad’s Crunchy Kale, Radical Ranch, 2 oz — UPC 813104020726 — Lot 29425-1 (Best By Dec. 21, 2026)
- Brad’s Veggie Chips Kale, 3 oz — UPC 854615002054 — Lots 33225-3 (Best By Jan. 28, 2027), 33325-2 (Best By Jan. 29, 2027), 33425-1 (Best By Jan. 30, 2027) and 33525-1 (Best By Feb. 1, 2027)
The bags were shipped all over the country through major natural-food distributors between October and December 2025, so even though this started with an investigation in California earlier this year, the bag in YOUR cabinet here in Georgia could be one of them.
How did a “healthy” snack end up like this? Kale naturally pulls elements up from the soil, and drying the kale removes most of its water — which concentrates whatever was in the leaves. The company says its manufacturing process did not add the contaminant.
Here’s exactly what to do: if your bag matches, stop eating it right now and throw it away. Do NOT take it back to the store — and note that refunds are not being offered. If you believe you got sick from eating these chips, contact your healthcare provider. Questions for the company can be emailed to alexandra@thesnackright.com (Mon–Fri, 10 a.m.–4 p.m. ET).
Fresh kale and other lots are not part of this recall — only the exact products listed above. Share this with somebody who snacks healthy, because this is one headline that can genuinely protect your people.
