ATLANTA — call your girls, because THIS is the Friday night we’ve been waiting for!
“Waiting to Exhale” in Concert takes over the Fabulous Fox Theatre this Friday, November 6 at 7:30 p.m., and it’s so much more than a movie night. The beloved film plays on the big screen while its LEGENDARY soundtrack comes alive on stage — live performances woven right through the movie, celebrating the music, the friendship and the emotion of a film that has held us down for 30 years.
And look at this lineup of voices: Avery*Sunshine, Alexia Jayy, Jekalyn Carr, The Amours and Melanie Fiona — five powerhouse vocalists backed by a full live band led by none other than Adam Blackstone, one of the most in-demand music directors in the business. They’ll be bringing to life the songs Whitney Houston, Toni Braxton, Brandy, Mary J. Blige, Chaka Khan, Faith Evans and SWV made immortal: “Exhale (Shoop Shoop),” “Sittin’ Up In My Room,” “Not Gon’ Cry,” “Let It Flow,” “Count On Me”… every single one a memory.
Bernadine, Savannah, Gloria and Robin walked so a whole generation could breathe — and Friday night, Atlanta gets to exhale together, in person, at 660 Peachtree Street. It’s one night only (the show plays Durham the night before), and tickets are available through the Fox Theatre box office and foxtheatre.org, starting around $65.
Sisterhood, the soundtrack of our lives, and the Fox. See y’all there!
