Let’s hear it for Kandi Burruss! 👏🏽🥳 The multi-hyphenate star has another major accomplishment to celebrate — she just landed a nomination for the Songwriters Hall of Fame’s 2027 class!

Kandi couldn’t hold back tears as she shared the exciting news: “…most amazing news that I’ve heard in so long; it’s been so much crazy stuff that’s been said about me over this past year, and sometimes it’s real heavy, but I keep moving.” Then she dropped the word that everybody needed to hear: “What God got for you, it’s still gon’ happen. It’s still meant for you.”
In her own post, Kandi wrote: “Wow! Thank you God! I’ve gone through so much in the past year. This recognition really brought my spirits up. To be recognized amongst the top writers in the game is such an honor. Thank you!!!! 🙌🏽🥹❤️ #Songwritershalloffame”

And this recognition is no small feat. According to Variety, songwriters aren’t eligible for induction until 20 years after their first commercial song release. Kandi joins an impressive list of 2027 nominees, including will.i.am, Lady Gaga, and Grandmaster Melle Mel. Eligible voting members have until midnight EST on December 14 to submit their ballots.
From Xscape to “No Scrubs” to Broadway — Kandi has been writing the soundtrack of our lives for decades, and the Hall just might make it official. Major congratulations to Kandi! 🎉 Drop your love for her in the comments.
