Real sanging only! The ladies of SWV blessed Atlanta with a live performance of ‘If Only You Knew’ at the Sister 2 Sister 20th anniversary celebration, and FreddyO had a front-row seat for every single note. Coko, Taj and LeLee reminded everybody in the building exactly why Sisters With Voices ruled the ’90s — no tracks, no tricks, just three microphones, three voices, and harmonies tight enough to give you chills. When Coko leans into that lead, there is still nobody who does it quite like her.
SWV came out of New York in the early ’90s and gave us a run of classics that still shut down any party: ‘Weak,’ ‘Right Here,’ ‘I’m So Into You’ and ‘You’re the One,’ just to name a few. Their take on ‘If Only You Knew,’ the Patti LaBelle favorite, has become a showcase moment in their live show, letting each lady stretch out vocally before those signature harmonies come crashing back in. Atlanta crowds know real R&B when they hear it, and this crowd showed SWV nothing but love.
The night was all about Sister 2 Sister magazine, which has been covering Black entertainment for two decades, and publisher Jamie Foster Brown pulled together a room full of stars to celebrate the milestone. SWV’s set was a highlight of the evening, with the audience singing along word for word. The group has been back on the road giving fans the classics they grew up on, and if this performance is any indication, the sisters have not lost a single step.

Salute to SWV and to Sister 2 Sister on 20 years! Press play and enjoy this live gem, and let us know in the comments which SWV classic you want to hear them do next.
