Chanita Foster Apologizes To Eddie Long’s Son Eddie Long Jr.

It was a misunderstanding that played out in front of a crowd, and Chanita Foster is owning her part in it. During a recent Atlanta event, singer Eddie Long Jr. took the stage to perform. Foster later explained that, from where she stood, she believed the song he was singing was a secular song that did not fit the event, and she had him stopped and asked to leave the stage.

According to Foster, she was then told that Long Jr. had in fact been singing a Christian song. In the video above, she apologizes to him directly, in front of the same audience, and says she was wrong to cut his performance short based on what she thought she heard. She states plainly that she misjudged the moment and that the young singer deserved the chance to finish his song.

Moments like this are never easy to watch, and they are harder still to fix in public. But on the record that FreddyO captured, the apology happened the same night, face to face, without a publicist in between: Foster said she made a mistake, said she was sorry, and directed her remarks to Long Jr. himself. What viewers take from it is up to them — the clip above shows the exchange as it happened.
