Class was in session at The Linethia Lounge, and the teacher was none other than powerhouse vocalist KeKe Wyatt — with reality TV queen NeNe Leakes as her student. During KeKe’s set at NeNe’s brand new Atlanta lounge, the singer decided to give her friend a proper singing lesson right there on stage, and FreddyO was in the room for every note and every laugh.
Now, if you are going to learn from somebody, KeKe is the one. The Indianapolis-bred, church-raised singer has been wowing audiences since “Nothing In This World” and “My First Love,” and her runs can still stop a room cold. Watching her coach NeNe through the notes — part vocal lesson, part comedy show — is pure gold. And give NeNe her credit: the original Atlanta Housewife was a good sport, microphone in hand, giving it her all while the crowd cheered her on.
The setting makes it even better. NeNe opened The Linethia Lounge at Atlantic Station this spring, her latest business move since stepping away from The Real Housewives of Atlanta, and the spot has quickly become a go-to for dinner, live music and a grown-and-sexy good time. Having a voice like KeKe Wyatt’s blessing the stage is exactly what the lounge is all about.
Between KeKe’s surprise performances at NeNe’s birthdays over the years and this little master class at the lounge, these two clearly love each other’s company — and we love watching it. Press play and enjoy, and tell us the truth: did NeNe pass her singing lesson, or does she need to come back for part two?
