Atlanta is not just the name of the show, it is the whole heartbeat of it. FreddyO went behind the scenes at the premiere celebration for the brand-new season of FX’s Atlanta, camera in hand, as Donald Glover and the cast came back home to kick off the most anticipated return on television. The city showed up and showed out for its own, and we have the vlog to prove it.
Since it debuted, Atlanta has been the show everybody talks about the next morning: funny, strange, painfully real and unlike anything else on television. Donald Glover built something that actually feels like this city feels, and the love Atlanta gives back to him is just as real. Walking through that premiere with the hometown crowd, you could feel the pride in the room. This is not just a show that happens to be set here, it is a show that is from here, and that difference means everything.
The new season is just days away now, and if the energy at this premiere is any sign, Glover and company are about to raise the bar all over again. FreddyO will be locked in for every episode, and you already know the timelines will be too. Clear your Thursday nights and get ready, because Atlanta is back, and this city would not have it any other way.
Press play and go behind the scenes with us, then tell us in the comments what you are most ready to see when the new season finally lands.
