This is what real R&B sounds like! Tank took the stage and reminded everybody in the building why he is one of the most respected voices in the game, running through his catalog with the kind of control and passion that separates the singers from the sangers. FreddyO was front and center, and trust us, the vocals in this video are not up for debate.
From the fan-favorite classic “Please Don’t Go” to his smash “When We” off the “Savage” album, Tank had the crowd in the palm of his hand all night. The ladies were on their feet, the fellas were singing along too, and every falsetto run landed exactly where it was supposed to. With his band locked in behind him, the whole set felt like a masterclass in how to work a stage.
What people sometimes forget is how deep Tank’s pen game runs. Beyond his own hits, he has written and produced for some of the biggest names in R&B, and nights like this show exactly why artists trust him with their sound. When he steps out from behind the scenes and grabs the mic himself, it is equal parts talent and testimony: the man lives this music.
