Y’all, there are singers, and then there are SANGERS — and Avery Wilson just reminded everybody which one he is. The Voice alum sat down and delivered a live cover of the timeless classic “Smile” that will give you chills, and FreddyO has the exclusive video.
No big production, no tricks — just Avery, his gift and one of the most loved songs ever written. “Smile” has been sung by legends, from Nat King Cole to Michael Jackson, so anybody covering it knows they are stepping onto sacred ground. Avery does not just step — he soars, running up and down his range with the kind of control you cannot teach.
Atlanta first fell in love with Avery when he turned all four chairs on The Voice back in 2012 as a teenager, and he has been growing ever since, from the Broadway stage to his own music. What makes him special is that he sings with his whole heart — you do not just hear the notes, you feel every one of them.
Press play and see why we call this series EPIC VOCALS — because that is the only way to describe it. Share this with somebody who loves real singing, and tell me in the comments: is Avery Wilson one of the best voices of his generation?
