John Boyega pulled off one of Hollywood’s best-kept secrets. The “Star Wars” star has revealed he’s been married for almost two years — and he’s now a father.
Boyega first shared the news in an interview with The Guardian. When asked about the ring on his finger, he said he’d been married for coming up on two years. He also revealed that a baby boy was on the way and that he’s already a stepdad to his wife’s son.
Just days later, Boyega surprised fans again on Instagram, posting the first photos with his wife, actress Tae Heckard, and their newborn son — showing the baby had already arrived. One clip shows him gently rubbing his sleeping son’s head. He didn’t share the baby’s name or birth date.
Heckard is an actress fans may know from “The Game” and the Atlanta classic “ATL.” She has since updated her Instagram name to Tae Boyega. Celebrities including Tyrese Gibson flooded the comments with love.
Boyega, who is British-Nigerian, said he’d still like to throw a bigger Nigerian wedding celebration down the road. As for fatherhood, he says his goal is simple: to be present, consistent and full of love for his kids.
