Metro Atlanta residents looking for ways to help neighbors this holiday season have several November dates to know, including a winter clothing drive and upcoming food-related events.
Fulton County Commissioner Marvin S. Arrington Jr. launched the 12th annual Blanket Atlanta with Love drive November 2. Collections continue through November 13, with new or gently used coats, clothing, blankets, ponchos, and toiletries among the requested items.
The county lists collection bins at the Fulton County Government Center, 141 Pryor Street SW in Atlanta, and the Fulton County South Annex, 5600 Stonewall Tell Road in South Fulton, with listed collection hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Check facility access before making a special trip.
The effort culminates in a dinner and distribution at the Government Center on November 17 from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Separately, Hosea Helps’ current calendar lists its Great Turkey Drop Off for November 6, from 10 a.m. to noon, and a Thanksgiving Drive-Thru for November 21, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at its headquarters, 2545 Forrest Hills Drive SW in Atlanta.
The organization’s calendar also lists Thanksgiving meal home deliveries for November 26. Readers seeking assistance or offering support should open the individual event details to confirm registration, eligibility, donation procedures, and availability. A calendar listing alone does not guarantee a meal or delivery.
FreddyO’s take: Sharing the correct dates can help somebody give, volunteer, or find the right place to ask for help. These are separate organizations and events, so follow each organizer’s instructions.
