Carson Daly is giving viewers another reason to turn on the television on Saturday morning. NBC announced November 5 that he will officially co-anchor Saturday Today alongside Laura Jarrett, expanding his presence on the morning franchise to six days a week.

Entertainment Weekly reported the announcement, which was celebrated on air by his colleagues. Daly will continue appearing during the weekday broadcast. His first official Saturday in the expanded role is November 7, according to TV Insider, joining a team that also includes features anchor Joe Fryer and meteorologist Angie Lassman.
The appointment follows a period in which Daly filled in alongside Jarrett. TV Insider notes that he joined Today in 2013, after building an NBC career that included Last Call with Carson Daly and hosting The Voice. For audiences who first knew him through music television, that career is getting another timely chapter.

In an October 5 report, EW revealed that Daly had returned to the former Total Request Live studio in Times Square to tape a reunion special for Roku. He is producing it with TRL creator Tony DiSanto. The special is expected in 2027, although a specific release date had not been announced in that report.
The reunion has an important distinction: it is being made for Roku rather than MTV. EW also reported that several stars associated with the TRL era had been spotted near the studio, but could not confirm their participation. An appearance near a building should not be treated as a confirmed guest announcement.
Together, these developments show why Daly remains recognizable to viewers across different generations. One audience remembers the music-video countdown and Times Square crowds. Another sees him as part of its morning routine. His next confirmed date is November 7 at the Saturday Today desk, while the reunion offers a separate project for longtime music fans to follow.
