Bill Cosby’s legal nightmare is far from over. Donna Motsinger — the woman who won a $59.25 million sexual assault judgment against the comedian this spring — is now asking a judge to hold him in contempt, saying he has refused to pay any of it and is blowing off court orders to reveal his finances.

In court papers filed this week in Santa Monica Superior Court, Motsinger’s attorneys say Cosby ignored an October 9 order requiring him to answer written questions about his bank accounts, income and assets — and to pay $1,560 in sanctions within 10 days. He allegedly did neither. Now she wants a warrant for his arrest if he fails to appear in court, up to $1,000 in fines and five days in jail for each violation, plus $3,284 in legal fees and costs.
The judgment stems from Motsinger’s lawsuit alleging Cosby drugged and sexually assaulted her in 1972, when she worked as a server at the Trident restaurant in Sausalito. On March 23, a jury found him liable and awarded $19.25 million in compensatory damages plus $40 million in punitive damages. Cosby’s push for a new trial was denied in May, and his appeal is still pending. A hearing on the contempt request is scheduled for January 19, 2027.
