Soulja Boy and Diamond Dating? New Mix Tape Juice + Dub Car Show 2011

Well, well, well — what do we have here? The homie Soulja Boy pulled up to the DUB Car Show in Atlanta over the weekend with Diamond right by his side, and now the whole city is asking the same question: are these two dating? FreddyO caught the pair at the show checking out the whips, and they sure did look comfortable together. Between the custom cars and all the celebrity sightings, this sighting might just have been the talk of the whole weekend.

Soulja Boy is in town promoting his brand-new mixtape Juice, which just dropped and has the streets talking, while he continues to ride the wave from his The DeAndre Way album. Diamond, who first made her name as the first lady of Crime Mob, has been focused on building her solo career, and her love life has always kept the blogs busy — everybody remembers her longtime relationship with Lil Scrappy. Seeing her pop out with Soulja Boy has definitely given folks something new to talk about.

The DUB Show brought out Atlanta’s car culture at its finest — candy paint, big rims and custom everything as far as the eye could see, with fans packing in to see the cars and the stars up close. Soulja and Diamond made their rounds through the show, stopping for the cameras and taking in the scene together. Whether they are a couple or just good friends, one thing is for sure: all eyes were on them.

Atlanta R&B group Jagged Edge has been at the center of a whole lot of chatter lately, and one member is ready to set the record straight himself. Kyle Norman sat down with FreddyO for a real conversation — no handlers, no hiding — about the stories making the rounds: the fight talk, the drug rumors, and most importantly, the new Jagged Edge album that’s on the way. If you only know the headlines, this is the interview you need to hear.

On the fight: Kyle addresses the altercation that had the blogs buzzing and doesn’t duck any of it — what happened, how it got blown up, and how a situation between grown men in this industry can turn into a week of headlines. Megan Good Speaks On “Aaliyah The Movie”

Ever since word started spreading that Hollywood is working on a movie about the life of Aaliyah, one name keeps coming up from the fans more than any other: Meagan Good. So when I caught up with Meagan, I had to ask her straight up how she feels about everybody saying she should play Baby Girl on the big screen.

Meagan told me she is honored that the fans even think of her for something this big, because Aaliyah meant — and still means — so much to everybody who grew up on her music. Playing her would not be just another role. Aaliyah was one of a kind, with a voice, a style and a presence that can never be duplicated, and Meagan knows any actress stepping into those shoes would have a lot to live up to.

It has been almost ten years since we lost Aaliyah, and her influence is everywhere you look, from the singers topping the charts right now to the style girls are rocking on the red carpet. Talk of a movie has been floating around for a while, with fans fantasy-casting everybody they can think of, but nothing is official just yet, and Meagan made it clear she respects Aaliyah’s family and legacy too much to treat the talk lightly.

LeBron James’ Mom Arrested For Assault + 4 year Old boy Shot in Road Rage Incident

It is time for another FreddyO celebrity gossip roundup, and the story everybody is talking about today involves LeBron James’ mother, Gloria James. According to multiple reports out of Miami, Gloria was arrested at the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach after an incident involving a parking valet at the hotel. Miami Beach Police confirmed the arrest, and reports say she was booked on a misdemeanor assault charge and released early Thursday morning. LeBron, who is in the middle of his first season with the Miami Heat after last summer’s big Decision, has not commented, but you know this is the last thing the King needs with the playoffs right around the corner.

Now, we have all watched Gloria James cheer louder than anybody for her son since his St. Vincent-St. Mary days, and everybody in Akron knows that is his heart right there. Details are still coming in on exactly what went down at the hotel, and charges are only allegations at this point, so we are going to let the facts come out before we pass judgment. But with LeBron already the most watched, most criticized superstar in the league, anything with the James name on it becomes national news overnight — and this one is no exception.

Also in today’s roundup, a story that truly breaks our hearts: a 4-year-old boy caught in a road rage shooting. There is no gossip angle to a baby getting hurt, family — that is just senseless, and it is a reminder of how fast an argument on the road can turn into a tragedy that changes lives forever. We are keeping that little boy and his family lifted in prayer, and we will update you as more information is released. Q’s from 112’s Birthday Day Party in ATL at Puffy Club ‘JUSTIN’S’

Atlanta came out to celebrate one of its own. Q Parker, one-fourth of the legendary Bad Boy group 112, brought his birthday in the only way the A knows how, with a packed party at Justin’s, and FreddyO was in the building for all of it. The cameras were rolling, the vibe was right, and Q was surrounded by the very people who have been rocking with him since 112 first helped put Atlanta R&B on the map.

If you grew up on 112, you already know what this group means to the culture. These are the voices behind the records that still shut down any party the second they come on, and Q has always been right at the heart of that sound. Seeing him celebrate another year in his hometown, at a spot carrying the Bad Boy family name from Puff himself, is a full-circle moment for anybody who remembers when Atlanta groups were fighting just to be heard.

The night was pure Atlanta from start to finish: good people, good energy and that family feel this city does better than anywhere else on the map. Q worked the room, showed love to everybody who came through to celebrate him, and proved that real talent and real ones only get better with time. Happy birthday, Q. The A appreciates you, and so do we.

Kyle From Jagged Edge Start Fight With RL From Next

Two of R&B’s most familiar voices ended up in a confrontation, and FreddyO’s camera was rolling when it happened. Kyle Norman of Jagged Edge and RL, the lead singer of Next, got into a heated exchange that turned physical, and the video above shows the moment as it unfolded — no narration, no spin, just the scene itself for everybody to see.

Both men come from groups that helped define an era of R&B. Jagged Edge, the Atlanta quartet built around twins Brian and Brandon Casey alongside Kyle Norman and Richard Wingo, gave the game a string of hits including “Let’s Get Married” and “Where the Party At.” Next, with RL out front, reached the top of the charts with “Too Close” and followed it with records like “Wifey.” For fans who grew up on both groups, seeing two of their members in a dispute like this is the last thing anybody expected.

What led up to the exchange is not fully clear from the video alone, and we are not going to speculate about what started it or take sides in it. What the footage shows is a tense confrontation between the two singers, with the people around them stepping in as the situation escalated. Little Daniel, her son with fiancé David Otunga, is not even two years old yet and he is already dancing like the music runs through his blood — bouncing, stepping and grinning for the camera like he knows exactly how cute he is. With a mama who can sing like Jennifer, is anybody really surprised? The Oscar and Grammy winner is having the biggest season of her career — she is looking amazing, sounding incredible, and her new album I Remember Me hits stores this Tuesday, March 22. Welcome to another FreddyO celebrity gossip roundup, where I give it to you just like I see it. We have a lot to get into — a young lady the whole world is watching over, a superstar whose name stays in the headlines, and one of the messiest custody battles Atlanta has ever seen. Let’s get into it.

First up, Bobbi Kristina. Reports are going around that Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown’s daughter has checked into rehab, and whatever is going on, I just want to say this: she just turned 18 years old, she is somebody’s baby, and she deserves love, support and privacy while her family helps her through a hard time. Gossip is gossip, but some things are bigger than a headline, so keep that young lady in your prayers.

Next, Chris Brown. New pictures of Breezy have hit the internet right as he is getting ready to drop his new album, F.A.M.E., next week, and of course everybody has something to say. Chris is working hard to move his career forward, the fans are ready for the music, and that is what should matter. And then there is Usher and Tameka, whose custody fight over their little boys is still playing out, with fresh talk flying around about a very private video. Raymond versus Foster has been going on so long it is hard to keep up, but at the end of the day, two little boys are in the middle of it.

It’s time for another FreddyO celebrity gossip roundup, and this week the rumor mill is working overtime. From an NBA superstar caught up in baby mama whispers, to an Atlanta songbird reportedly parting ways with her label, to an R&B legend making the brave decision to go back to rehab — FreddyO is breaking down the stories everybody is talking about, in that order. Get your tea ready, because this roundup is a lot.

First up, Kobe Bryant. Word on the street — and we stress, this is gossip, not gospel — is that a young lady is claiming the Lakers star has a baby on the way outside of his marriage to Vanessa. The blogs have been buzzing about the Black Mamba for days, and as FreddyO points out in the video, superstar athletes at Kobe’s level are magnets for exactly this kind of story, true or not. Kobe and Vanessa have been through public storms before and come out the other side together, so the real story here is how fast a rumor can catch fire when it has a famous name attached to it. Until somebody produces receipts, file this one under talk — loud talk, but talk.

Then there’s Atlanta’s own Ciara. Reports say the Goodies singer has been dropped by Jive Records following the disappointing rollout of her Basic Instinct album — and other reports say Ciara herself was ready to move on from a label that wasn’t pushing her the way she deserved. Either way, nobody in this city is writing CiCi off: the talent, the stage show, and the fan base are all still there, and a fresh start might be exactly what she needs. And finally, sending love to El DeBarge, who has reportedly checked himself back into rehab and stepped away from tour plans to deal with his addiction. After his big comeback with Second Chance, fans everywhere are praying the Faithful singer takes all the time he needs and comes back stronger.
