Kandi Rasheeda Toya Diamond & Lola – “Bed Rock” – Video Shoot

The ladies of Atlanta just showed the fellas how it is done. Kandi Burruss, Rasheeda, Toya, Diamond and Lola linked up right here in the A to shoot the video for their ladies’ take on the smash ‘Bed Rock,’ and FreddyO was on set as the cameras rolled.

You already know the original: Young Money’s all-star record has been sitting on top of the charts and running every radio station and club in the country this year. Now Atlanta’s finest women are putting their own spin on it, each one stepping up with a verse to remind everybody that the ladies can rock a record just as hard as the guys. With an anthem this big dominating the year, a version powered entirely by Atlanta women felt long overdue.

And what a lineup. Between Kandi, the Grammy-winning singer and songwriter killing it on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Rasheeda, the Boss Chick who stays putting on for Georgia, Toya holding it down with her own hit BET show alongside Tiny, Diamond bringing that Crime Mob edge, and Lola turning heads with bars to match, this shoot was a full-on celebration of Atlanta women winning. The laughs between takes said it all: respect all around, but every one of them came ready to eat.

Press play to go behind the scenes of the ‘Bed Rock’ ladies’ video shoot, and tell us in the comments: which one of these ladies bodied it the most?

TLC Chilli New TV Show – “What Chilli Wants”

Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas is ready to find real love, and she is letting the whole world watch her do it! The TLC superstar is stepping in front of the cameras for her brand-new VH1 reality show, “What Chilli Wants,” and FreddyO has got your first look. After all the heartbreak, the headlines, and that famous list of everything her perfect man has to have, Chilli is putting it all on the table this time.

On the show, Chilli teams up with relationship expert Tionna Smalls to finally track down her Mr. Right, and the journey is as funny as it is real. Boxing champ Floyd Mayweather even steps into the picture, turning up the flirting as Chilli decides whether an old friend could become something more. With her son Tron growing up fast and her dream of a bigger family on her heart, the stakes feel personal in a way her fans have never seen.

Of course, this is still Chilli, so the standards stay sky high. • Neff and Soullow Ask Bloggers Why Hate

Neff and Soullow Ask Bloggers Why Hate

Neffe and her husband Soullow have something to get off their chest! FreddyO sat down with the couple, and they had one question for the blogs that stay writing about their family: why all the hate? The Frankie & Neffe stars kept it all the way real about fame, family and the price of living your life in front of the cameras — and the comment sections.

Ever since Keyshia Cole introduced the world to her family on The Way It Is, Neffe and Mama Frankie have been fan favorites — and easy targets. Every argument, every headline and every family moment ends up on the blogs, and Neffe says folks are quick to judge a life they could never live. Soullow backs his wife up the whole way through, making it clear this family is sticking together no matter what the internet has to say.

But don’t get it twisted — there is love in it too. Neffe gives props to the fans who ride for them, talks about the new single she has been working on and says the show must go on. With Frankie & Neffe holding it down on BET, the family is turning all that chatter into television gold, and Neffe wants the haters to know they are only making the show bigger.

One thing about Neffe — she is going to say it with her chest every single time! Press play, then check out more FreddyO exclusives with the family in the videos above, including Neffe talking about her new single and Frankie telling it all in her own words.

  • Tiny & Toya’s Daughters Zonnique & Reginae Carter Talk About Internet Fame
    ,

Tiny & Toya’s Daughters Zonnique & Reginae Carter Talk About Internet Fame

They may be young, but don’t get it twisted — Zonnique Pullins and Reginae Carter already know exactly what comes with the spotlight. The daughters of Tiny and Toya sat down for a real conversation about growing up with famous parents, and in this exclusive FreddyO clip, the girls open up about the internet fame, the love, and yes — the hate that comes with it.

If you watch “Tiny & Toya” on BET, then you already feel like you know these two. Zonnique, Tiny’s daughter, is stepping into music with the OMG Girlz, and Reginae — Toya and Lil Wayne’s baby girl — has been stealing hearts since she was in diapers. But reality TV cameras are one thing. The comment sections are something else entirely.

What we love most about this moment is how honest the girls are. Instead of letting the mean comments make them hard, Zonnique and Nae talk through how it feels to read what strangers say about them, how their moms teach them to handle it, and why they refuse to let anybody’s keyboard change who they are. That is a lesson a whole lot of GROWN folks on the internet still haven’t learned.

And make no mistake — these are still kids being kids. There is plenty of laughing, joking, and that back-and-forth only two little sisters-at-heart can have. But underneath the giggles, you can already see the confidence their mothers poured into them, and the star quality that clearly runs in both families.

Press play above and hear it straight from the girls themselves. Something tells us this will not be the last time we see Zonnique and Reginae in front of a camera — Atlanta’s next generation is officially on the rise, and FreddyO will be right here documenting every step.

  • Lyfe Jennings Live New Song : Funeral Sex
    ,

Lyfe Jennings Live New Song : Funeral Sex

Leave it to Lyfe Jennings to stop a room cold with nothing but his voice and the truth. FreddyO caught the soul singer live as he blessed the crowd with a brand new song, and if you know anything about Lyfe, you already know he does not do small talk — every record is a lesson, a confession and a testimony all rolled into one. This new one is no different, and that title alone lets you know he came to say something real.

Since he first stepped on the scene with ‘Must Be Nice,’ Lyfe has built his whole career on keeping it uncomfortably honest. This is the same pen that gave us cautionary tales like ‘S.E.X.’ and the stick-together anthem ‘Never Never Land,’ songs that feel less like radio records and more like a big brother pulling you aside before you make a mistake you can’t take back. His raspy, church-honed voice carries every bit of that weight live — no track to hide behind, no gimmicks, just a man, his story and a crowd hanging on every word.

The new song digs into the kind of grown-folks truth Lyfe is famous for: love, loss, desire and the moments that force people to finally say what they should have said while they still had the chance. It’s heavy, it’s provocative, and it’s exactly why his fans ride for him the way they do. Word is Lyfe has been hard at work on his next album, I Still Believe, and if this performance is any indication of where his head is at, the project is going to be one of the most talked-about R&B releases of the year.

Press play on the exclusive footage above and witness it for yourself, then let us know in the comments: is Lyfe Jennings still one of the realest voices in R&B? Around here, that answer is easy. Real music, real stories, real singing — that’s Lyfe every single time he touches a stage.

  • Waterfalls Karaoke — Tiny, Kandi, Toya, Diamond, Rasheeda and Neffe

Waterfalls Karaoke — Tiny, Kandi, Toya, Diamond, Rasheeda and Neffe

Now this is a girls’ night. Tiny Harris, Kandi Burruss, Toya Carter, Diamond, Rasheeda and Neffe got together, put on one of the greatest girl-group records of all time and turned karaoke all the way up — TLC’s “Waterfalls.” FreddyO was right there as the ladies sang, danced, laughed and cut up like the sisters they are, and it is three-plus minutes of pure Atlanta joy.

They could not have picked a better song. Tiny knows the Xscape playbook inside and out, Kandi is a Grammy-winning songwriter who helped create TLC’s “No Scrubs,” and every lady in the room grew up with “Waterfalls” all over the radio. Watching them trade verses — rapper Diamond and Rasheeda right alongside the singers — you get a real sense of how tight this circle is when the cameras of their own shows are off.

It is a busy season for everybody at the table. Tiny & Toya has made Tiny and Toya two of reality TV’s favorite best friends, Kandi has settled right into The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Neffe is fresh off Frankie & Neffe, and Rasheeda and Diamond keep holding it down for the ladies of Atlanta hip hop. A night off, a microphone and a TLC classic were clearly exactly what the doctor ordered.

Between their own karaoke classic and their Temptations moment in the clips above, these ladies could take this show on the road. Press play, sing along at the top of your lungs, and tell us — who took the crown for best performance of the night?

  • Tiny & Toya Ain’t Too Proud To Beg Karaoke
    ,

Tiny & Toya Ain’t Too Proud To Beg Karaoke

Girls’ night out! Tiny and Toya grabbed the karaoke mic and took on a Motown classic, the Temptations’ ‘Ain’t Too Proud to Beg,’ and FreddyO was there to catch every note. When these two Atlanta ladies get together, you already know it is going to be a good time, and this karaoke session was no different, just two friends cutting loose and singing like nobody was watching.

Of course, everybody in the A knows Tiny can blow, she has been singing since her Xscape days, so karaoke is light work for her. Toya held her own right beside her bestie, and the two had the whole spot laughing and singing along by the time they hit their favorite parts. Picking a Temptations record was perfect too, that is the music they grew up on, the kind of song everybody’s mama played on Saturday mornings.

Tiny and Toya have the whole city watching their every move these days thanks to their hit BET reality show, which has fans following their friendship, their families and their business moves. Between Tiny holding down the home front and Toya raising Reginae and building her own brand, these two are showing everybody how Atlanta women do it, and still find time to have fun like this.

Press play and enjoy Tiny and Toya’s karaoke takeover, then tell us in the comments: which classic should these two sing next? One thing is for sure, karaoke night in Atlanta will never be the same.

  • Kandi, Tiny, Diamond, Toya, Rasheeda, Nivea & Neffe Link Up in Atlanta
    ,

Kandi, Tiny, Diamond, Toya, Rasheeda, Nivea & Neffe Link Up in Atlanta

Atlanta got a serious dose of girl power this week when Kandi Burruss, Tiny Harris, Diamond, Toya Carter, Rasheeda, Nivea and Neffe all linked up right here in the city, and FreddyO was on the scene with the camera rolling. Seven ladies, seven different stories, and one room full of laughs, hugs and catching up — this is the kind of night that only Atlanta can put together.

If you have been keeping up, you know every one of these ladies is in the middle of a moment right now. Kandi is fresh off a buzzed-about first season on The Real Housewives of Atlanta and is getting her music back in motion, while Tiny is heading into a new season of BET’s Tiny and Toya with her girl Toya, Lil Wayne’s ex-wife and the mother of Reginae. Their show put a real spotlight on friendship, family and starting over, and fans are already waiting on the new episodes.

Then you have Diamond, the former Crime Mob princess who had the whole South screaming “Knuck If You Buck” and “Rock Yo Hips,” and Rasheeda, Georgia’s own peach, who has been holding it down for Atlanta’s female MCs for years. Add in R&B singer Nivea, the voice behind “Don’t Mess With My Man” and “Laundromat,” and Neffe, Keyshia Cole’s big sister, who everybody watched last year on Frankie and Neffe, and you have a room that tells a whole chapter of Atlanta music and reality TV history all by itself.

What we love most about a link-up like this is that there was no stage, no red carpet and no competition — just Atlanta women who have grown up in this industry together, showing love and talking about what is next. Press play on the video above, check out the ladies in the gallery, and tell us in the comments: if these seven ever sat down for one big roundtable, who would have the best story in the room?

  • Say Sumthin Remix — Rasheeda & Nivea
    ,

Say Sumthin Remix — Rasheeda & Nivea

Atlanta showed up for Haiti in a big way this weekend. Rasheeda and Nivea hit the stage together to perform the remix of “Say Sumthin,” and it was all for a good cause — raising money and support for the people of Haiti after the devastating earthquake. FreddyO was right there in the building.

If you have been anywhere near a TV or radio this month, you know how heavy this is. The earthquake that hit Haiti on January 12 left destruction that is hard to even describe, and Atlanta’s music community has been answering the call ever since — benefit concerts, donation drives, everybody doing their part.

And trust me, Rasheeda and Nivea did not just show up for a photo op — they PERFORMED. Rasheeda’s flow was sharp as ever, Nivea’s voice had the whole room singing along, and when the two of them came together on that remix, the energy in the building said everything about what the night was really for.

Press play and watch these two ladies do their thing for a cause that matters. Our prayers are still with Haiti, and we will keep you posted on more ways Atlanta is stepping up to help.

  • Markise ‘Kesan’ Moore Interview on the Ryan Cameron Show
    ,

Markise ‘Kesan’ Moore Interview on the Ryan Cameron Show

Atlanta radio stopped and paid attention when Markise ‘Kesan’ Moore sat down for an interview on the Ryan Cameron Show. Moore’s name had been in the headlines across the city through 2009, and with the case still fresh on everybody’s mind, hearing him speak for himself was the kind of radio moment that had the whole town glued to V-103, waiting on every word out of his mouth.

Ryan Cameron, already one of the most trusted voices in Atlanta radio, did not treat the conversation like a spectacle. He asked the direct questions listeners wanted answered and gave Moore room to respond, and that balance is exactly why the interview hit so hard. This was not a courtroom and it was not a press conference — it was a man at the center of a painful story being asked to account for himself in his own words, in front of the city that had been talking about him for months.

Moore spoke about his situation and the road that brought him to this point, and whether listeners believed him or not, the interview forced a bigger conversation around Atlanta dinner tables and barbershops: about responsibility, about children, and about how quickly a life can change once the courts and the cameras get involved. Ryan Cameron has built his show on the conversations other hosts might run from, and this one belongs at the top of that list.

Press play above and listen to the interview for yourself. Then tell us in the comments — do you think Ryan Cameron asked the right questions, and did Kesan Moore’s answers change how you see the story?
