Public Enemy’s Chuck D and graffiti pioneer Darryl “Cornbread” McCray are headed to Wilmington for the 4th Annual Hip-Hop Cultural Summit, and it won’t cost you a dime to get in.

The summit takes over the Delaware Art Museum on Saturday, October 17, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The day is packed: a drumline from the Stop the Violence Coalition, a Ladies of Hip-Hop brunch, an MC battle, graffiti, dance and music. Cornbread will lead a talk on art as activism, and Chuck D will sit down for a fireside chat with AllHipHop co-founder Chuck “Jigsaw” Creekmur, followed by a book signing.

What to know

  • Admission is free, but you need to register online before October 17.
  • DJ Supreme, Roxy Romeo, Hezekiah and Champtown are also on the lineup.
  • The museum’s “Walls of Resistance: Art as Activism” exhibit, featuring Cornbread and 17 other graffiti artists, is up through October 25.

Hip-hop has always been about more than music. Would you pull up for this one?
