When a two-time MVP who has terrorized the whole league says it out loud, you listen!
Luka Dončić put on an absolute SHOW Monday night in Los Angeles, torching the Miami Heat for 42 points, 13 assists and 7 rebounds as the Lakers ran away with a 138–117 win. Luka was cooking from the jump — 24 points by halftime — on his way to his FOURTH 40-point game in his last five outings.
But the moment everybody’s talking about came AFTER the game, when Giannis Antetokounmpo — who put up 30 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists of his own for Miami — was asked about the man who just lit his team up.
“Obviously, he’s one of the best scorers to ever play this game, if not the best,” Giannis said. And he didn’t mean right now. “Not right now. Of all time. I feel like some people are scared to say that, but he’s got to be up there.”
OF ALL TIME. From Giannis. About a 27-year-old.
The numbers back the talk: Luka leads the entire NBA in scoring at 38.3 points a night, and over his last five games he’s AVERAGING 43.4. Austin Reaves chipped in 27 for the Lakers and Walker Kessler grabbed 15 points and 15 rebounds as L.A. improved to 6-2, but make no mistake — this night, and this conversation, belongs to Luka Magic.
When the greats start calling you one of the greatest scorers EVER while you’re still in your prime? That’s not hype anymore. That’s history being written in real time.
